Why KUPPET NGC has secretly registered Walimu solidarity Sacco little known to teachers?
I have always said that teachers we are our own enemies milking from one another at the slightest opportunity available.Why do I say so?
Firstly, Kuppet was founded in the false pretence of fighting to and safeguarding the rights of post-primary education teachers but the real aim was to weaken the then strong teacher’s union KNUT ,by then the kuppet teachers felt they didn’t have a stake at the governing KNUT NEC therefore,they hurriedly registered KUPPET and it was recognised by the employer and it started its operations on a higher notch.
Secondly, without the knowledge of the teachers who are the stakeholders the KUPPET NGC altered the KUPPET constitution and created a cacoon of officials at the national level who won’t be easily voted out of office,this was made possible by blocking any branch official from ascending directly into the national governing council.
After safeguarding their tenure in office by making the governing council members to be appointed by branch delegates they automatically blocked newly appointed branch executives from accessing NGC that is why the Likes of Omboko,Obwocha,Okello,Nthurima,Korir have been recycled at the national governing council for more than two decades now.
Thirdly, the NGC went ahead and created NGC welfare fund which they have secretly turned into Walimu solidarity Sacco which has been officially registered as kuppet teachers Sacco with the NGC as the directors but using our membership as sources of funds,but why?
The reason as I said earlier in the opening paragraph kuppet inception was founded in false pretence of aiming to serve the teacher’s interests which never was,it is now crystal clear that if not checked this union will turn around to be a monster it the lives of teacher.
Finally, kuppet has to make it open to the members why they have created this Sacco secretly and has used our membership to push for it’s registration and now soon they are going to bankroll it nationally start registration of members as they fatten themselves as the defacto directors of the Sacco and keep on siphoning our coins by drawing huge salaries as they have been doing.
