Six suspects, who range in age from 13 to 17, were charged with gang rape and engaging in an indecent act with a school girl. All the suspects are secondary school boys
The boys who are accused of committing the crime on October 30 at about 6:00 o’clock in the evening showed up in front of Senior Resident Magistrate Faith Muguongo on Monday in Nyeri county
The girl was allegedly enticed to the suspect’s home by one of the accused, who she knew as a neighbor and fellow student, as she walked home from school.
The guy and his friends then took turns raping the girl after locking her in one of the house’s single bedrooms.
According to a police report presented in court, the girl did not reveal what had occurred to her after the event until she reported to school the following day.
She was transported to the hospital by the school deputy principal, who is named as one of the witnesses in the lawsuit, when it was discovered that her reproductive system had been seriously hurt.
A lawyer, Mr. Ngugi, testified in court in support of the assertion that one of the suspects was a KCSE candidate who had been required to skip some classes as a result of his arrest.
The prosecution, however, objected to the motion for bond, claiming that releasing the suspects would further traumatize the victim.
