On Wednesday, Azimio leaders from the Mt Kenya region met with Raila Odinga and Martha Karua, the two candidates for the Azimio presidential nomination.
The meeting took place while the Supreme Court’s hearing on their presidential appeal to invalidate William Ruto’s victory was beginning.
In a tweet, Raila stated, “Martha and I had a really positive engagement with Azimio leaders from the Central Kenya region.”
Former Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya, former Kieni MP Kanini Kega, former Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia, and former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni were among the leaders present at the conference.
As the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition, Raila declared, “We are dedicated to a one united Kenya policy.”
In presenting his case to the seven-judge Apex court bench earlier in the day, he had expressed trust in his legal team.
Raila declared in a statement on Wednesday that his legal team is prepared for the challenge.
We are going to rebuild this country together, he continued, adding that we are travelling this journey together.
Our legal team is prepared for the first day.
For three days, until Friday, the Supreme Court will hear the combined presidential petition.
Before announcing their decision on Monday, September 5, the judges will withdraw to compose their decisions.
