Secondary school principals who require parents to purchase uniforms from their establishments or approved dealers will be found and disciplined.
Primary Education Belio Kipsang argued that parents of students entering Form One ought to be able to purchase school uniforms from stores of their choosing.
Dr. Kipsang stated, “We will be collaborating closely with our colleagues from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to penalize anyone who will be aiding any wrongdoing by requesting payments that are not authorized by the government.
This occurred at the same time that it was discovered that some schools required parents to deposit funds into separate accounts for school-provided uniforms.
Kipsang advocated leaving the sale of goods to businesspeople so that schools can focus on their primary responsibility.
