The Kenya national examinations council has finally honoured its obligations by paying the 2021examiners the much longer awaited arrears which has been a thorn on the flesh of the teachers by over three months since the examinations were released.
In what appears to be a strategy to appease the examiners for a a heavy task a head of them at the end of the year when the council will be administering three examinations as the CBC first cohort is set to be examined.
While addressing the media earlier on the CEO Dr Njengere alluded that the delay in payments was occasioned by verification of the information regarding the thousands of the examiners engaged in the administration of the kcse and kcpe examiners.
He said that going forward the payment of the engaged examiners will be done faster because the information about all engaged examiners has been updated.
He thanked all the examiners for their hard work and for exhibiting high level of patience while the council was processing the payment.
KNEC now is fully constituted as President Kenyatta recently appointed professor Nyabundi to chair the council for a period of Three years.The newly appointed chair will be tasked to ensure credibility in the fourth coming multiple examinations which the council endeavours to administer by the end of this year.
While delivering the message of acceptance professor Nyambundi promised to work closely with other council members to ensure credibility, reliability and upholding integrity in national examinations.
