Eight kids from two schools in Kisii have been detained by police on suspicion of organizing a sex party.
Five of them are boys from St. Joseph’s Nyabigena High School, while three of them attend Nduru Girls High School.
They were detained in Kisii town, where they had rented a single room in a building.
Seven of them are KCSE exam hopefuls for this year, the police discovered after questioning them.
They and a Kisii National Polytechnic student were detained on Friday after police received a report that they had barricaded themselves in a rented room in the Mwembe neighborhood, outside of town.
One female saw police officers and was able to flee.
As their motivation had not been determined, those who had been seized were taken for medical examinations to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH).
The arrests were confirmed by Amos Ambasa, the police commander for Kisii Central sub-county.
tests carried out
Tests to determine if they had participated in sex orgies were undertaken, but the results were negative, Mr. Ambasa said over the phone to the newsdesk team.
Before going to their separate homes, the kids said all they wanted to do was cook some dinner. However, despite being boarders, they failed to explain to us why they were not in school at the time. Their parents were contacted and came to pick them up.
