It isn’t strange in Kenya for alien nationals assaulting Kenyan citizens and get away with it.
Sometimes back a Chinese national wiped a Kenyan employ several times over what he termed as getting to work late,the Kenyan reported the case and the Chinese was merely asked to apologize for what he did,but why is this habit repeated by other nationalities?
Two days ago a Nigerian by the name Olaydaju nearly smashed one wachira for what he termed as retaliation for being kept indoors by her girlfriend wachira,the Nigerian chased the girlfriend viciously wanting to assault her, not even the intervention of the police would deter him from his mission.
He chased wachira into a restaurant where she ran for her dear Life only for the Nigerian to follow her in their very violently causing disturbance to everyone who was in there,the three policemen who were having their dinner there later arrested him and took him to dagoretti police station.
He was presented to kibera law courts where he was fined paltry ksh 10,000 this is an insult,how can a person who wanted to kill her girlfriend in a very verifiable and evidenced case get such an lenient sentence? this kind of leniency from our courts to such kind of inhumane nationals encourages the continued abuse of our citizens by foreigners it should be stopped altogether!
The suspect pleaded guilty of the offence and asked the magistrate to consider him and hand him a softer judgement following the fact that he was acting under anger and that he has apologised to all the people he had disturbed following that incident,he was remanded for further ten days awaiting for his plea for forgiveness.
For this atrocities to come to and end our immigration department should emphasize on the conduct of the aliens while in our country to protect our citizens from any form of harassment.
